first days of seattle...
to andreas surprise i arrived a day early... caught up with some friends, celebrated her birthday [oct 9th], met some new people, walked around town a bit, checked out a small snowy portion of Mt. Rainier National Park, and relaxed.

as you may guess, i nearly hit the camerawoman.

! shoulder season vacation !
I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED!that time of year again. when my seasonal occupations shift gears... ranger to bellman.
soon, very soon, i will be departing to the land of Seattle, WA to spend some time with family and friends. after ~2 weeks there i fly out to chicago! thats right folks.... ILLINOIS! a great place to call home; i have missed my home state. i will arrive just in time for University of Illinois' homecoming... of course i will be attending! orange & blue thru & thru.
after the busy alma mater weekend, i get to hang out with my parents for
a few days. then head back up to chicago and spend time with friends [darc] until i hop on the train for a 24 hr. trip. [roughly, and if it is on time which it never is] arrive back in the roaring fork valley to start my position with the Sky Hotel, pretty much immediately. sigh -> i cannot wait to finally get a break; feel as if i have been working constantly for the past couple of months. much needed r&r will be had before the busy snowy season ahead.snowboarding, fine dining, tourists, beverages [beer, wine, spirits], and work of course. what a great place to work.
i love it when i can ride my bike/walk to the slopes!
